Key identification features: Herbs, caespitose; stems terete, appressed strigose. Leaves simple, opposite, oblong, oblong-lanceolate or oblong-elliptic. Ray florets 2-3- seriate, female. Disk florets numerous; corolla campanulate; stamens 4 or 5, sagittate. Palea hairy in the upper two-third portion. Achenes 90-120 per head, black to brown with white margins.
