Key identification features: This small spreading herb, armed with prickles. The stem is four-angled and lacks prickles. The leaves are alternate. The flowers of this herb are pink. The fruit is lomentum which is flat, with a margin adorned by recurved prickles which contains 3-5 subrhombic seeds.

Uses: Leaves and roots are used in traditional medicines. Leaves are used for the treatment of piles. The fumes from the leaves drive away the bees during honey collection.
