Leaves simple, alternate, stipulate; Flowers unisexual, greenish-yellow; male flowers: in axillary, much branched, dense, tomentose, panicles, concealed in large bracts Fruit a capsule, globose, hairy, glandular, black; seed one, black.
Uses: To treat stomach-ache, dysentery, haemoptysis, cough and fever.
