Key identification features: It grows up to 25 m tall, with smooth yellowish-brown bark. The leaves are simple, glabrous, and coriaceous. The bisexual flowers appear in terminal panicles. The fruit is a woody, dehiscent capsule.
Uses: used to lower blood sugar in the body. Its high content of corosolic acid makes it an effective anti-diabetic drug. Banaba is also recommended for kidney, bladder problems and hypertension.
