Habit: Herb

Habitat: Weed among cultivated plants, wastelands, roadsides, etc. 

Distribution: Asia; Africa; Australasia; North America; South America. 

Flowering and Fruiting: March-July

Key identification features: Erect woody annual herbs with glandular pubescent. The leaves are 3-5(-7)-foliolate, and the flowers are yellow and few-flowered. Capsules are linear-oblong and densely glandular hairy. Seeds many, reniform, transversely ridged, reddish-brown.

Uses: Cleome viscosa is traditionally used to relieve fevers and respiratory issues like coughs and colds. It has anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce joint pain and swelling. The plant is also used for digestive health, aiding in the treatment of stomach pain and diarrhea.
